Skills for Queensland's construction industry
Queensland is growing rapidly and with this growth comes opportunity. From housing to infrastructure and the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, construction skills are in demand.
That's why we are investing in construction skills through The Right Skills Strategy 2025–2028. This $5-billion strategy will deliver the skills needed to support our industries and strengthen the economy.
This includes a range of initiatives for the Queensland’s construction industry:
- Free and reduced-cost training will make construction skills available to more Queenslanders.
- Training will be delivered across the state by approved suppliers. This will help to match training with local industries and employment opportunities.
- Queensland will host world-class training facilities for construction, engineering and advanced manufacturing. Funding of over $200 million will deliver centres in Caloundra, Moreton Bay and Rockhampton.
- Behind every skilled worker is a great teacher. Up to $28 million in joint funding will secure vocational education and training (VET) teachers to train the tradies of tomorrow.
Whether you’re starting a career in construction or growing your business, there are opportunities for everyone.
