​​Right Skills Strategy delivers a $2 million boost to local skills​

​A total of $5 million has been set aside for tailored training and skills projects. This includes an extra $2 million through the Right Skills Strategy. So far, 6 organisations have received funding for projects across the state. Spanning from Logan to Rockhampton, the projects will support over 150 people in Queensland.

​Funded projects include:

  • ​Women will gain experience with Fulton Hogan on the Rockhampton Ring Road project. This project is led by Harness Energy Services.
  • ​People in South East Queensland will get skills for entry-level construction jobs. The National Timber and Hardware Association will deliver this training.
  • ​Club Queensland will upskill 45 community club workers in Cairns for leadership roles.
  • ​Diverse people will be trained as teacher aides in Townsville schools. Regional Development Australia Townsville and North West Queensland will lead this project.
  • ​Over 50 people will be trained for outdoor leisure jobs in South East Queensland. Active Industry Alliance Ltd will deliver this initiative.
  • ​Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Cairns will get skills for work in automotive jobs. Fresh Start Academy will drive this effort.
